11 years ago, I walked into a Jiu-Jitsu gym at 5’5 135 lbs. I was scared, nervous and just plain shy. Once I took my first step on the mats, my life changed and I’ve never looked back. I surrounded myself with not only teammates, but a community that was like family.

My coach Carlos Farias Jiu-jítsu, saw my determination and dedication. He saw me over come obstacles and struggles in my life and I laid it all out on the mat every time I was there. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I am at today along with fellow Jiu Jitsu brothers. Jiu Jitsu saved me.

Today, I want to give back to such a great sport and lifestlye that has given me so much in my life. I want to share my passion with others. I want to be the mentor for others as others were mentors for me when I needed it the most. I want to see the lives of others change on and off the mat. I want to see their passion grow just as mine did.
